North Sea Voices and Orchestra, directed by Dr Susannah Self, is a professional ensemble based in coastal North Norfolk.
Alongside Fauré's beautiful Requiem, they are due to perform one of the most important premières in Cambridgeshire this year, Dr Self's highly tuneful and harmonically rich Sea Requiem which, in addition to the traditional Latin texts, includes settings of poems about the sea by Keats, Dickinson and Whitman.

You can still take part in online activity, however: there will be four free 1 1/2-hours sessions from 6-7.30pm over the next 3 months, starting the Sunday before Easter, the 5th of April. Then the Sunday after Easter, the 19th of April, and the 3rd and 24th of May, These would be conducted on Zoom Pro, a fantastic interface where we can all see each other together. All you need is a pair of headphones plugged into your computer.

Following their first two highly successful productions at the Granary Theatre (The Turn of the Screw, and Cosi fan tutte), Seastar Opera once again set out to surprise and delight their audiences with a new show centred around the life of George Gershwin. Styled “a musical travelogue”, the events of his short but brilliant life are told alongside his most beautiful songs using a combination of song, dance, exquisite costumes and a jazz band.
Gershwin had a celebrated working partnership with his brother Ira, and together they won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1931 for Of Thee I Sing, the first musical to achieve this distinction.

Susie Self is an international singer, composer and voice director. Her opera “Boy from Brazil” premiered at London’s Riverside Studios in summer 2012. Her symphonic music featured on Woman’s Hour. Sound Healing through the Power of Voice Hugely popular, this workshop teaches a path to meaningfully deepen your self-expression through voice. The workshop is open to all levels of singer and speaker. As well as developing a practice to strengthen and release your voice, you get one-on-one attention. Susie leads a relaxing, energising workshop to inspire personal healing. Voice work can relieve depression and transform burnout. The course includes: singing bowl meditations, mantra singing, drumming and release of the voice through movement and breath.
Painting Inner and Outer Landscapes Release your creativity by painting inner and outer landscapes in areas of outstanding beauty. We will explore magical hidden sites on Skyros. For inner landscapes we create abstract Mandalas (round paintings) that help connect us to a deeper sense of ourselves. This workshop with its combination of modern painting techniques and soul journeying liberates and inspires. Please bring a poem or piece of writing that you love. No previous experience of painting is needed.
Connecting to your Self through the Mandala After Dinner on the beach. Respond to the call of your true self by creating a communal Mandala, a round piece of art with natural found objects. An inspiring experience.
